Leave no Trace Core Requirement
Starting at our next meeting we'll be working on the LNT core
requirement. You'll need to understand these! This will take a few weeks and
will be a intensive study on the subject as we will be in a very
sensitive ecosystem while in the Adirondacks.

What is Slide Climbing?
Many people think that you can only hike on trails or hang by
your fingertips in the Northeastern United States. But the reality
is that there is a continuum of experiences that await the outdoor
recreationalist that goes from easy hiking trails to steep slides to
technical rock and ice (all equally rewarding!)
Slide climbing is akin to true mountaineering, with a generally
long approach hike both on and off trail, steep friction scrambling with
the possibility of a little rope work with a great finish on a
Adirondack Alpine summit!
