National Trails Day

National Trails Day

American Hiking Society's signature trail awareness program, National Trails DayŽ (NTD), inspires the public and trail enthusiasts nationwide to seek out their favorite trails to discover, learn about, and celebrate trails while participating in educational exhibits, trail dedications, gear demonstrations, instructional workshops and trail work projects.

The Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) is celebrating National Trails Day in the Catskill Forest Preserve on Saturday, June 7, 2008.

What and Where

Volunteer trail crews led by experienced ADK leaders will spend the day maintaining sections of trail throughout the Catskills. Volunteers will meet at designated trailheads at 8:30 A.M. and will work until mid-afternoon.

Tools will be provided by ADK. At the end of the work day, trail volunteers are welcome to join together for a well-deserved barbecue dinner including T-shirts, raffles and live music.
